It has been a while since I have done one of these posts. Mostly because during a work week I would usually wear the same look/lip to save time in the morning!

I have had mixed feelings about wearing makeup during lockdown. Some days I feel like I really need it to feel a bit more productive and human. I also enjoy the process of getting ready, even if it is just for a food shop or a walk. Other days, I just want to make no effort with my appearance and rock a bare faced look. This means that a Week in Lipsticks during Lockdown might not be that exciting, I just want to rotate through some forgotten products since I mostly wear Fenty’s Gloss Bomb all day, every day!!

MAC Lipstick in Patisserie – This has been a fave for such a long time! The Lustre finish is soooo creamy and glossy. It is like a wearing a lipstick/lipgloss hybrid! The shade is a my lips but a bit pinker which looks great with any makeup look. You do have to reapply a bit throughout the day, but I don’t really mind that. It lasts really well considering it is such a creamy formula. I definitely lean towards glossy, creamy formulas in the warmer months and a proper lipstick makes me feel a bit more put together and polished sometimes.

Colourpop x Kathleenlights Lux Lipstick in What’s Your Sign – There was a time where I thought this was too warm for me to be able to pull off. But I have since experimented and found it to work best when paired with a lip liner underneath. I was so keen on playing around with this because I love the formula of this lipstick because it lasts like a matte lipstick without being too drying. I think the Lux Lipstick formula is very comparable to that of a high end brand like Charlotte Tilbury. You guys know I am a sucker for rose gold packaging haha!

Colourpop Just A Tint Lip Crayon in Always Right – This is a fairly recent edition to my collection because I felt I was lacking a tinted lip balm type of situation to wear in the warmer months/to work with my lower maintenance beauty days. The Just A Tint formula is so hydrating without being too slippery. I find that they are pigmented enough to wear with any makeup look – not just no-makeup, makeup. These are so easy to throw on and not think about because they fade in a forgiving way. I know a lot people don’t love the scent in these, but I love it! The shade Always Right is a pinky colour that I wore with a minimal makeup look.

Dose of Colors Desi x Katy Lipstick in Aftermath – Tbh, I was totally inspired to pull this out after Desi and Steve’s pregnancy announcement! Although I would typically wear brown/terracotta shades in the A/W seasons, I wanting to see if I could make it a bit more wearable for the warmer weather. I decided to wear really dewy, summer skin look and applied a sheer layer of Aftermath to create a blotted lip. Because the finish is more matte, it means their is a great lasting power and I quite like the contrast of a matte lip with dewy skin. I definitely want to play around with application methods of some of my other lips products to see if I could find some new ways of wearing some less used items in my collection.

If I am being honest, I definitely wore Gloss Bomb this week…! But I feel like I have mentioned it quite a bit on my blog recently so decided against including it. I have enjoyed using lockdown to experiment with application methods/or trying different lip liners or mixing colours together with products I didn’t think suited me. It has made me appreciate my collection and realise that you don’t need to spend money on new makeup to have something feel new to you.
