I finally received my Colourpop order and I am sooooo excited! I have only tried a few products from CP when I’ve bought from eBay or Depop. Instead of hauling the items (trying to save face after my previous haul), I decided to review the items individually over the course of the next few weeks.
Starting with a product I have been DYING to try, is the Colourpop Super Shock Cheek in Flexitarian. This is one of their bestsellers and is mentioned by so many beauty gurus as an amazing highlighter for a blinding glow. Even though I prefer my highlighters more on the natural side, I had heard too much about this to not pick it up.
I’m sure everyone knows the Super Shock Cheek (and Shadow) formula by now. It is a really interesting texture with a bouncy, creamy feel. I think I would call it a cream/powder hybrid. I think this is what makes the product so pigmented and high-shine. I like that you can apply a sheer layer of Flexitarian for a more subtle sheen, or build it up for a blinding look too.
My preferred application of this product is with my finger, I think this delivers the most pigment and helps the product melt into the skin better. I feel like I get more control and targeted application this way. I have used this highlighter with my sponge as well and liked the effect too.
I really, really love the colour of this highlighter. I know a champagne is nothing revolutionary, but it is more of a white champagne that looks amazing on fair-light skin. It is sooooo reflective and is like a little spotlight on your cheekbone when it catches the light. The champagne tone means that it goes with any blush or eye look.
Overall, I am truly obsessed with Flexitarian from Colourpop. The quality of the product, the blinding (yet customisable) glow it gives and the price means it is an absolute winner in my book. I love that I can wear it with any look, natural or more glam to add a bit of extra special something to my makeup look. I can’t believe it took me this long to try this product, I can see myself repurchasing this again and again.
