I was super excited that the Desi X Katy Dose of Colors collabs was gonna be available on Beauty Bay this time around since we missed out on their first collab. I was super strict with myself and only picked up two items that I felt filled gaps in my collection. The Friendcation palette is gorg, but I knew I wouldn’t get use out of the fun colours and I have similar mattes in my collection already. The rest of the collection either wouldn’t suit me, or I felt like I have dupes in my collection already.

With that being said, I did pick up two items from this collection, two lip products that Samantha Ravndahl convinced me to buy. I hadn’t tried any lip products from Dose but have only heard good things so I knew I would like these. I wanted to do a review for you guys in case you were unsure about whether to pick anything up from this collab.

Dose of Colors Desi X Katy lipstick in Aftermath –

This is *the* perfect brown-red for me and is amazing for this time of year. I was worried this would pull to brown on me, but the terracotta makes it really flattering on my fair (neutral leaning cool) toned skin. The formula is matte which I think is the best formula for a deeper shade like this one. The shape of the lipstick is perfect for getting a precise application because of the sharp edge, it kinda removes the need for a lipliner. This lipstick is super creamy despite being a matte formula. I was super impressed with how opaque it was too. It lasted pretty well through the day – I needed to reapply after eating but that is to be expected. I love the signatures on the twist up part of the packaging, I think it adds a nice touch for the collab. I would definitely think about purchasing more lipsticks from Dose of Colors because I was so impressed with the formulation.

Dose of Colors Desi X Katy in A Mauve Story –

This is another perfect lip colour, but this is my perfect MLBB shade. It’s a dusty rose colour that I think looks amazing with any makeup look. It’s a thin formula that feels like nothing on the lips whilst being opaque and creamy. This is a velvet matte liquid lipstick which means it’s matte without being too drying. It lasted pretty well considering it’s a velvet as opposed to matte. This is definitely one of the better liquid lipsticks I’ve tried, which reflects the cost. But with a formula that is this good I wouldn’t mind paying a bit more for increased performance. I know I will keep reaching for this for any occasion and season. If you are worried about the other lip products in the collection being too warm/peachy for you, I would definitely check A Mauve Story out.

I think both the packaging on the products is beautiful. I love that soft touch with gold details since it looks really luxe and reflects Desi and Katy. Both products also smell really good too, they smell a lot like Mac lipsticks to me.

Both these lip products are cruelty free and vegan, which I think it amazing. I can’t really pick a fave lip product out of these because I love them for different reasons. Aftermath is perfect for the A/W seasons as a pumpkin spice kinda colour, whereas A Mauve Story is such a versatile lip shade that I could wear day or night and is the perfect MLBB shade for me.

I can’t wait to hopefully try out more from Dose of Colors in the future. I have my eye on their 5 pan palettes and other lip products.
