The Stila Glitter and Glow eyeshadows have been on my radar since they launched last year. Everybody raves about them and I knew I really wanted to try them but couldn’t quite justify the £23 for one shade. They launched a set at Christmas that I was interested in but wasn’t 100% on the shades so decided to pass. I am so glad I did because Stila launched this new set for Summer 2018 that contains two shades I had my eye on, so I knew I had to go for it.

Top-Bottom: Rose Gold Retro, Kitten Karma, Smouldering Satin

The shades in this set are; Rose Gold Retro, Kitten Karma and Smouldering Satin. I think the selection of shades covers the bases for so many makeup looks and would pair well with a lot of eyeshadow looks but look amazing alone as well. Rose Gold Retro is rosey-copper shade, Kitten Karma is a champagne-y pink shade and Smouldering Satin is a taupe shade. My favourite is Kitten Karma because it is the most usable shade for me and I love the tone. Smouldering Satin is perfect for more intense, smokey eye looks and Rose Gold Retro adds a perfect sparkle to a warm toned, copper eye look. I mostly use these all over the lid or in the centre of the lid for a halo eye. I also want to try them as liners as well. The shade Kitten Karma is also light enough to use as a super shimmery inner-corner highlight. I really like the versatility you get with the liquid glitter formula and the doe foot applicator.

Now onto the formula, it really is like liquid glitter. It was quite hard to photograph swatches and show you guys the base colour whilst showcasing the level of shimmer at the same time. There is a bit of fall out because they are that glittery, but I start off slowly and build them up if I want to avoid fall out. I don’t really think you need to build these too much because they are quite pigmented, unless you wanted a super intense glitter effect. They last really well on the lids and I didn’t find them to crease either.

I can totally see what all of the fuss is with these, they make applying glitter less messy and precise with the doe foot applicator. The fact that they are liquid shadows gives more control and work-ability with the shadows. They are perfect for dramatic makeup looks because they are glittery shadows, but they also work amazingly well at adding a bit of something extra to an everyday makeup look with the multiple ways of using them.

I definitely recommend this set if you are one the few people who haven’t taken the plunge with a full size of these yet and want to try the formula and a few shades to explore what you’d like. It is also a great set if you are someone who likes to have options since you haven’t just committed to a single shade. After I have used these up I feel like I will have a better idea of what shade I would use the most and suit me best. This set is around the same price as one full size shadow, so I definitely recommend giving these a go. I purchased directly from the Stila UK website and shipping was very quick, but you can also purchase this from Cult Beauty as well.
