So, I have had vouchers for Debenhams for almost a year now (I got them for my birthday in January… I know, what took me so long?!) and FINALLY decided what to purchase with them. I’ll be honest, I did kinda forget I had them. 😳😲 I think the reason I took so long to spend them is the fact that being a student means I can’t really buy high-end makeup as much as I want to right now, and I wanted to be sure that what I was buying was worth it and that I really wanted it.
It wasn’t on purpose, but I ended up buying all Urban Decay products which I don’t have a problem with since it probably one of my favourite brands (I have mentioned UD lots on my blog so that probably isn’t a surprise). These were just all the items I had been wanting for ages and just ended getting them all at the same time. I am so excited about owning these products and getting to use them. If you want to find out what I picked out then just keep reading…
- Optical Illusion Primer – This is the one product I didn’t actually anticipate buying but when I tried it on the back of my hand I knew I had to pick it up. I tend to stick with hydrating primers since my skin is so dry, but I haven’t found one that I love that prolongs the wear of my makeup and blurs imperfections whilst not being too drying at the same time. Enter the Optical Illusion Primer! This primer says it blurs imperfections, gives a soft-focus and prolongs the wear of foundation as well. I managed to snag the last one in store and the sales assistant told me it is always sold out, so I’m excited to see what all the fuss is about! I haven’t tried this yet (wanted to preserve the products for photos first 😅🙈) but I will report back to you guys asap. This is probably the item I am most excited for since I didn’t originally plan on picking this up!
- Naked Skin Foundation – I have wanted this for ages but haven’t been able to justify spending that much on a foundation during my current student life. I am definitely someone who prefers a light-medium coverage on a day-to-day basis and this seemed like the perfect foundation for that purpose. I wanted to get a foundation I would use daily rather than for special occasions since I already have a foundation reserved for that and I wouldn’t get the use out of them if I saved them all. This is supposed to perfect your skin whilst still being weightless and gives a natural finish, it sounded right up my street. I was matched to shade 1.0 (I wasn’t the palest shade for once!) which I’m hoping is a good match for me – it looked okay when I checked in natural light and all that stuff, so fingers crossed!
- Naked Skin Concealer – This is a repurchase because this is my all time favourite concealer and it has been too long since I last had it! I love it because it has amazing coverage, doesn’t get cakey or look dry and lasts all day. The product goes really a long way as well, I remember last time I had this I was so surprised how long it lasted despite being only 5ml – so you really get your moneys worth. I have the shade Fair Neutral which is a great option for my fair skin and the lightest shade they carry. I love using this under my eyes because it actually brightens them up as well as concealing (concealers for this purpose tend to be hard to find when you have fair skin). I am so excited to have it back in my life!
- All Nighter Setting Spray – This is another repurchase and now I have it again I can’t imagine my life without it. I haven’t tried many setting sprays, but I don’t feel like I need to because this just works amazingly. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it! I tend to use this on special occasions or on long days where I want to make sure my makeup stays put (this combined with Double Wear is a combination that will not budge). It sets my makeup so amazingly and keeps any oils at bay. I am always soooo impressed by how fresh my makeup looks at the end of the day whenever I use this. When I originally purchased it, I was worried about this being too drying on my skin type but it isn’t too harsh at all. I love the new packaging as well, the old one used to get so dirty since it was white and I feel like this packaging works with UD’s vibes a lot better.
So there was a lil’ haul of the items I (finally) picked up with my birthday vouchers! I will be sure to update you guys with reviews and stuff once I have tried everything out a bit.
