I have been using this product for about a year now and thought it was about time I reviewed it since it has such a difference to me and my skin.
I’ll be honest, I have never really been that interested in spot treatments because I don’t really get breakouts that often (thank you genetics!!). I have used one or two treatments in the past, but I used to rely on Sudocrem to clear up my skin whenever I had a spot. But in the last year or so I have started getting hormonal breakouts more frequently and have got kinda conscious about my skin and what I am putting on it. I wanted to try something more on the skin care spectrum, since everyone always says that it is good to invest in your skin – I decided to go for it. I had heard so much about the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion that I knew I had to check it out…
When I tried it for the first time I wasn’t expecting much to be honest. I thought it was gonna be majorly over-hyped. I have never tried anything that was super effective, but I was hoping since I spent a bit more than normal that this would help me. I thought the price was kinda justified since I knew I would only be using this once a month due to the effects of my period. Anyway, I followed the instructions (dip a cotton bud in the pink sediment at the bottom and apply to the effected area and leave overnight) and put it on before bed (it did sting a bit for a minute or so, but unless a product burns my skin for a long time I tend to just let it happen) and woke up and I couldn’t believe the results. It really did dry my spots. My spots were diminished in size and in redness, and the spot was barely noticeable anymore. It was mind-blowing how well this little product had worked, and in one use!
Ever since then I always reach for this if I have a breakout going on, or I can sense a spot is going to happen. Not only does this lotion fight breakouts, it prevents them too. I really think everyone should own this, no matter what their skin type is. It says it is suitable for all skin types which I was kinda sceptical of to be honest. But, it worked so well with my dry, sensitive skin (I was kinda worried this would be too harsh), that I couldn’t believe I hadn’t tried it sooner!
I know I will continue to repurchase this, it is such a game changer. Even after a year of use (I know I don’t use it super often but still) I still have just under half left. I guess since you use so little to treat each area that this product really goes a long way. The hype (and the price) is so justified for this product, I can totally get on board with the cult following. I would love to try more from Mario Badescu since a lot of the products are really raved about and if they are as good as the Drying Lotion, I am so on board!
Have you tried the Drying Lotion, what did you think? Are there any life changing skin care products you’ve tried?
